Kyparíssi is a small and very authentic village, about1.5 km from the sea. To date, few small Dorian settlements have been found in the larger area, from the 5th and the 6th century BC. In addition, ruins of a small, fortified castle has been found on Kastráki hill, dating from the 4th century BC.
Visit the beautiful church of Koimíseos Theotókou (the Dormition of the Mother of God, i.e. the death of Virgin and her bodily resurrection) and the church of Ágios Onoúfrios, located inside the village of Kyparíssi.
There are two settlements on the beach, Paralía Kyparissíou (the haven of the village) and Mitrópoli, which is not metropolitan at all! Both villages have kept their colour, in spite of the recent touristic development.
