Perdika, located on the southwestern tip of Aegina, is an old traditional village that in recent decades has developed into a highly sought-after destination. In the past its inhabitants were engaged almost exclusively in fishing, while today the village is best known for its lively waterfront, its famous seafood tavernas and its beautiful sunsets over the Saronic Gulf.
Despite its popularity, Perdika retains a strong traditional island character. Small houses with flower-filled courtyards, narrow alleys and bright maritime colours create one of the most picturesque villages of Aegina, while the small harbour still hosts fishing boats and visiting yachts.
Just opposite Perdika lies the small island of Moni, a green islet belonging to a monastery and remaining uninhabited. Since 1962 the island has been designated a wildlife breeding park, where peacocks, deer, wild goats, pheasants and squirrels roam freely among the pine forests.
