The main village lies slightly inland, while its coastal extensions function as its natural harbour, forming a close relationship between land and sea.<\/p>\n\n<p>The area has been inhabited since <strong>antiquity<\/strong>, as evidenced by the remains of small Doric-type settlements dating to the 5th and 6th centuries BC. On the hill of <strong>Kastraki<\/strong>, traces of a small fortified acropolis from the 4th century BC indicate the strategic importance of the area in controlling the coastline and local maritime routes.<\/p>\n\n<p>In later centuries, Kyparissi did not develop into a major administrative or commercial centre, which contributed to the preservation of its traditional character. Its isolation, due to rugged terrain and limited land access, reinforced the self-sufficiency of its inhabitants and their close connection to the sea.<\/p>\n\n<p>In modern times, two small coastal settlements developed: <strong>Kyparissi Beach<\/strong> and <strong>Mitropoli<\/strong>, which serve as the harbour area of the village.
